Made in Corby wins a second round of Creative People and Places funding

Congratulations to Made in Corby that has been successful in additional funding to allow it to run a further period of activity.

The programme aims to provide a wide range of top quality arts engagement for the people or Corby. Local residents are a crucial part of the programme, working with the Made in Corby team to develop their own programmes.

Creative People and Places is a crucial part of the Arts Council's strategy to broaden arts engagement, particularly among communities that tend to be least engaged with the arts. Each project is being run independently, responding to it's own unique circumstance, environment and local culture. Having the courage to invest over the long-term in these programmes is giving many people not traditionally well-served, or much interested, in the arts to find new and amazing artistic experiences on their doorsteps.

Next week I will be visiting Corby, to see Danny Hero, their new musical, written about the area, with local people involve din every aspect of the production and performance. The show has been created with the support of professionals who specialise in the creation of new musicals as well as fantastic artists, performers and production team. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it! I'll tell you all about it afterwards,
